Aims of the Programme

The Business Information Technology (BIT) pathway is for Informatics students who are interested in both information systems management and IT skills. It provides you with hybrid skills – system development skills and business-oriented knowledge, which are required by today's business and industry employers. BIT builds upon the understanding of system analysis, design, development and administration covered in Informatics core unit content to address strategic management of IT for business.

    You will acquire knowledge and understanding of:
  • computers, computation, operating systems, networks and system software
  • development, deployment and administration of Information systems
  • human, commercial, organisational and social contexts
  • ethics, professionalism and management of projects, people and change
  • analysis of requirements and specification of behaviour of Information systems strategic management of IT for business
