IST College committed to cultivating a modern entrepreneurial mentality among its students and bringing the world of business closer to the world of education, organizes for the 2nd consecutive year, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation competition “CRAZY BUSINESS IDEAS” in order to provide young people with the opportunity to bring forth their ideas for a new product or business and transform them into a rigorous business plan. To join the competition the candidate must submit his/her idea via the specially designed for this purpose website, www.crazybusinessideas.gr, submitting a short text describing the idea, along with a photograph, or video of the idea.
The ideas will be evaluated in 2 phases:
a. Public voting
b. Evaluation by a committee of entrepreneurs and academics
a. In order to vote a candidate must have a Facebook account. The vote is submitted by pressing the word "like" displayed next to each idea. Any Facebook user can vote more than one ideas but can not vote the same idea more than once. Each time a user votes an idea he/she will automatically participate in a draw and have the opportunity to win an iPad, courtesy of IST College.
b. The fifty candidates who will obtain most votes from the public, "advance" to the next phase of the competition. At this stage, candidates are called upon to transform their idea into a business proposal. Candidates’ business plans should be prepared and submitted within a forthnight from the end of short educational seminars to be held at IST College’s premises by academic staff specialized in Business and Economics who will guide candidates in preparing the business plan.
The business plans will be evaluated by a committee consisting of entrepreneurs and academics. The members of the committee are selected by IST College.The criteria for selecting an idea are the innovation of the idea, analysis of the business plan and the extent to which the idea is feasible.
The first prize will include:
a) €10.000 as capital to start up a business based on their idea
b) a complete business plan from IST College and
c) the design of corporate identity by the collaborating with IST College advertising agency.
The second and third prizes will be a full scholarship for graduate and undergraduate programs at IST College.
