Rationale of the Programme
With scientists increasingly placing an emphasis on health education and the adoption of certain health behaviours(balanced diet, exercise, positive thinking), Psychology has developed a field that focuses on the biopsychosocialfactors that affect health and illness and contributes to the promotion of health and prevention of disease. StudyingHealth Psychology allows psychologists or other health professionals to understand the effects of factors such aspersonality, attitudes and social influence on health behaviour. It also allows them to provide support to patients andtheir families or educate the public about various health issues.
