Admission Requirements for International Students
Academic requirements for admission of international students to undergraduate or postgraduate programmes are the same as those for home or EU students. Non-EU students may have to make special immigration arrangements for entry and residence in Greece.
Applications for registration can be submitted at anytime during the year. Early application is strongly advised, as the number of places is limited according to the University of Hertfordshire regulations.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED TO IST
FOR ADMISSION and
LOCAL AUTHORITY APPROVAL (student visa)
FOR NON - E.U. CITIZENS
UNDER-GRADUATE STUDIES (Bachelor's)
1st STEP
From the Candidate to IST
- Application Form (filled in and signed as appropriate with 1 small size photograph)
- Validated Copy of High School Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Validated Copy of the Transcripts (Notification of Results-Marks- and Courses attended)
- Validated Copy of an English Language Certificate
- Copy of a valid Passport
Based on the above-mentioned documentation the relevant Programme Tutor along with the Academic Board will consider the application.
2nd STEP
From IST to the Candidate
- Letter of Acceptance (Conditional or Unconditional) / or Rejection
(In case of rejection the procedure stops here) - Parental / Tutor Declaration for Foreigners regarding studies to Greece (Document issued by the Greek Local Authorities)
- Declaration of Foreigners for studies in Greece (Document issued by the Greek Local Authorities)
3rd STEP
From the Candidate to IST
- Parental / Tutor Declaration for Foreigners regarding studies to Greece (Filled in and signed by the candidate as appropriate. The declaration form will be sent to the candidate by IST, as mentioned in step 2 point 2)
- Declaration of Foreigners for studies in Greece
(Filled in and signed by the candidate as appropriate. The declaration form will be sent to the candidate by IST, as mentioned in step 2 point 3) - 6 recent photos of the candidate
- Copy of a valid Passport
- Copy of student's International Health Certificate (recent)
- Copy of student's Criminal Record (recent)
- Copy of the Bank Transcript for payment of Tuition Fees or any other expenses (as these are mentioned on the Acceptance Letter that the Candidate receives e.g. language courses tuition fees, foundation fees e.t.c.)
- Copy of the Bank regarding proof of funds (regarding the cost of living)
The above-mentioned documents are submitted to the Greek Local Authorities (Prefecture) by IST, and within, approximately, 7 working days receives back a Certificate, which is signed and sealed by the Prefecture.
4th STEP
From IST to the Candidate
- Certificate signed and sealed by both IST Studies and the Prefecture
The Candidate will submit the above-mentioned Certificate, which is sent by IST, to the Greek Embassy, along with the additional documents that the Embassy requires, in order to apply for a Student Visa.
The Greek Embassy, Consular Section, usually requires the following documents*:
- Filled-in and signed application form
- 4 passport size photos
- Presentation of a valid passport
- Photocopy of the passport's first page
- Family Register
- Personal interview with the student
- Health Certificate (recent)
- Criminal Record (recent)
- Evidence of adequate financial mean
- Documents related to the student's previous studies
- Letter of acceptance issued by IST along with the Certificate signed and sealed by both IST and the Prefecture
- Student Visa Fee
*Additional documents may be requested by the Greek Embassy, Consular Section

- Validated Copy of an English Language Certificate
- Copy of a valid Passport
- Student's CV
Based on the above-mentioned documentation the relevant Programme Tutor along with the Academic Board will consider candidate's application.

- Validated Copy of an English Language Certificate
- Copy of a valid Passport
- 6 passport size photos
- Candidate's CV
Based on the above-mentioned documentation the relevant Programme Tutor along with the Academic Board will consider candidate's application.
