If you have a degree or equivalent in any subject, but want to specialise in Marketing, then this programme is for you. It is designed particularly to give graduates of any discipline the skills and knowledge they need to follow a successful career in Marketing.
The rationale for this programme is to provide grounding in all the key subject areas involved in marketing management in the twenty first century, including an understanding of the impact of the explosive growth of technology, the increasing internationalisation of business and practical skills such as marketing planning, presentation and report writing.
The programme is designed to recruit mainly new graduates from any discipline who wish to specialise in Marketing and equip them with the necessary knowledge and understanding to gain employment in Marketing and Marketing Management positions.
The structure of the programme is designed so that new graduates will receive instruction in the core principles and practices of Marketing and Marketing Management followed by both deepening and broadening studies. Options are provided in Semester B to allow the student to develop an individual profile whilst retaining the overall objectives of the programme. The programme concludes with a major dissertation.
Students are equipped for a variety of careers within the fields of Marketing and Marketing Management. In addition, the theoretical underpinning, research methods element and the dissertation will allow successful students to consider an academic career.
As a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Accredited Study Centre, the programme will be regularly assessed against the content of the CIM Diploma and application will be sought on behalf of students for exemptions from those parts of the CIM Diploma for which the CIM offers exemptions. This is an ongoing process and students will be kept informed on a regular basis.
