Maritime Business Event at IST College with Prof. Orestis Schinas, Professor of Shipping and Ship Finance and Head of Maritime Business School of the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA – Germany).

In the framework of the new cooperation between IST and Hamburg School of Business Administration – HSBA (Germany) a Memorandum of Understanding was signed promoting issues in Education and Training. 

 Within this context the “Maritime Business Event” was hosted at IST College on Tuesday 14 June 2016.  Guest-speaker was Prof. Orestis Schinas , Professor of Shipping and Ship Finance and Head of Maritime Business School of the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA – Germany).  Prof. Orestis Schinas gave a presentation on the “Ship Finance Considerations in 2016-Reinventing Ship Finance” as well as “Education and training for the next Generation of Shipping Executives”.  Executives and representatives from the Pireas Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Private Shipyards attended the event along with  representatives from the Greek Maritime and Shipping Industry  e.g. Mr. Christoforides M., Xanalatos P., Dossopoulos G, Mavridoglou N etc. Furthermore, Mr Mavrokakis Antonis contributed to the discussion with very interesting comments that along with Prof. Schinas presentations created a dialogue for further discussion on issues related to the cluster and offered the audience useful information. 

 Also attending the event were 14 postgraduate students from the Shipping MBA programme of the Hamburg School of Business Administration as well as IST students from the International Business Programme.
