IATEFL ESP SIG International Conference Athens 2016

The  English for Specific Purposes Special Interest Group (ESP SIG), is pleased to announce that the IATEFL ESP SIG International Conference will take place between 1 and 2 October on the main premises of IST College, in Athens, Greece.

Online registration for the conference will open on June 1st. The early bird registration fees (1/6-31/8/2016) are £80 for IATEFL members (incl. speakers) and £120 for non-IATEFL members (incl. speakers). From (1/9-16/9/2016) , the fees will be £135 for IATEFL members and £165 for non-IATEFL members.

Call for Papers

The IATEFL ESPSIG International Conference in Athens, Greece aims to explore the following key questions and many more based on the contribution of the presenters and delegates. We expect that our theme will bring together a diverse range of researchers and practitioners in professional, vocational and academic English to share their views, and practices which are applicable to other EAP and ESP contexts.

 

  • Research domains in ESP
  • From needs analysis to curriculum development
  • Integrating MM CALL into an English for Specific Purposes Curriculum
  • ESP programmes’ effectiveness in connection with programmes aimed at general language proficiency
  • Outcomes resulting from the use of any given ESP programme
  • Preparation, Intervention, Assessment: assisting ESL learners in ESP settings to attain their own goals and reach established external standards

 

We look forward to your contributions as presenters and facilitators.

EACH PARTICIPANT WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT TWO PAPERS. ACCEPTED PRESENTATIONS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN ESP SIG JOURNAL OR IN CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PUSPOSES AND SPECIFIC PURPOSES: LOCAL INNOVATIONS AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES BOOK
