IST’S GRADUATION CEREMONY

In an impressive and moving ceremony which was held on Wednesday, 25 February 2015 at the Megaro Moussikis of Athens, IST held its Awards Ceremony with the participation of the Rectors and academic staff of IST and the collaborating British Institution, University of Hertfordshire.

With the presence of the General Managers of IST, Dr. G. Kastrinakis and Dr. D. Fountoukakos and leading personalities from the academic, political and business world, as well as parents, friends and relatives, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees were awarded, in a ceremony that followed the same ritual as that of the University of Hertfordshire in the UK.

And because at IST, we are proud of our graduates and it is our priority to support them in every possible way, at this year’s ceremony, we awarded prizes to two of our graduates who have excelled in their entrepreneurial and academic work, thus, contributing to acknowledging their efforts and work.

Mr. Drakoulis Fountoukakos, IST’s General Manager, awarded the honorary plaques. In his speech, Mr. Drakoulis Fountoukakos highlighted: "Honour! Joy! Goals’ accomplishment! Enormous moral satisfaction! Love for the manpower you have moulded! It is moments like this that reward us for all the hard work and sacrifices of our beliefs! Education and training mean love, respect for oneself, respect for those you educate, respect for the families who make sacrifices so that their children may study and hope for a better future. Principles and values, quality and hard training are inextricably linked to IST ».

The ceremony’s main speaker was Mr. Chris McIntyre, Dean of Cultural Affairs and representative of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire, who, together with Ms. Daphne Fountoukakou, Head of Quality Assurance at IST awarded the degrees to graduates.

During his speech, Mr. Chris McIntyre stated that "What we’ve tried to do is help you stand out. When you chose your University of Hertfordshire course at IST, you chose an environment and academic programme that was focused on developing the very skills and attitudes that will open doors, whatever the economic climate. You have not only developed academic knowledge and practical skills, but you have grown in confidence and creativity, making you a real asset to employers right from day one."
